From the first softgels produced by our predecessor company in 1993, to expanding into nutrition product solutions in 2000 and building a global footprint in Germany (2016) and the United States (2023), SIRIO has grown into a leading nutrition product solution provider serving brand owners and retailers worldwide.
Our history
SIRIO Europe has a rich history spanning over 32 years. Pushing the boundaries of pharmaceutical development since 1993, SIRIO has unrivalled experience in manufacturing high quality gummies and softgels and creating innovative solutions for its clients, championing quality and compliance at all times.
- Foundation of Sirio Pharma Co., Ltd.; started with the production of soft gels.
2000
- SIRIO starts contract manufacturing service of dietary supplements
2003
- SIRIO is awarded GMP Certification and health food GMP certification
2007
- Started production of nutraceutical gummies, tablets, capsules and powders.
2010
- We achieved U.S. NPA-cGMP certification (per CIC) and strengthened pharmaceutical-grade quality alignment for global markets.
- Opened US Branch.
2012
- Began production of functional beverages.
2013
- We achieved Australia TGA GMP certification and ranked first in China’s dietary supplements export market share for six consecutive years (per CIC).
2014
- Began production of vegetarian softgels and probiotics products.
2015
- Laid the foundation for a new facility in Ma’anshan Health Industrial Park.
2016
- We acquired Ayanda GmbH, now Sirio Pharma Germany GmbH
- SIRIO gets approval of CNAS certification.
2018
- Neutraceutical gummy production begins at Ma’anshan plant.
- Inauguration of new R&D laboratory of 2600 m² at Shantou.
2019
- Inauguration of a workshop dedicated to probiotic dosage forms at Shantou.
- European patent awarded to Ayanda for a softgel containing probiotics and omega 3.
- Sirio listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, as firs food supplement CDMO ever.
- Inauguration of a new office in Shanghai.
2020
- Capacity expansion of German Ayanda plant, including equipment for vegetarian softgels.
- At the Ma’anshan plant: Inauguration of new 1200 m² large R&D centre and increase of capacity for manufacturing powders, liquids and jellies.
2022
- Acquisition of Best Formulation, USA
2022
- Full integration of Ayanda GmbH into SIRIO Europe.
2024
- Opening of new packaging facility in our German site (September 2024).
- Company name change from Ayanda GmbH to Sirio Pharma Germany GmbH
2025
- Launched SIRIO Institute on Ageing
